Poem by: Lourdes Rivera

From fields and meadows out they came
Hopping and skipping pony and braids
Till four years later they took their trail
And each of them sought out for the grail

Nothing heard, no one missed ‘cept for a few
None but a peck or just a curt ‘Hello!’
Most have been away, too many things to do
Or them they felt shy and awkward too.

But too sudden, too long, enough is enough
Says the forlorn mother, “many amiss I have
My brood I nurtured; all of them I love
Isn’t it time they came look back at their home?”

November 7, 2004 thirty-five years exact
Text and email, thanks to them so fast
The long lost ship heard a call at last
Come to PTA, San Fabian. Let us break the fast.

So much missed, so much lost; all joys and tears
The would-have-beens are now but just memoirs
The time is now, anything less or more
We hold on to and keep forever more.

Grail or not,  Mother SAMA calls us all
For is it not the mother who bear all?
ALBERTEENS ’69 Let not the banner fall
With one hand and one voice,

HAPPY HOMECOMING TO ALL!!!
